Police reach out to a dead mans mom on Facebook!

After Anne Lamb-Creasey's son was hit by a car and killed on January 24th police tried to tell her through a Facebook message and other inconvenient ways to break the news to her. Anne thinking the message and Facebook page was fake did not reply and so the news never actually reached her until valentines day. The now tearful and furious Anne says that she is disappointed with the department and that they had obviously not done all they could to get this new to her immediately  http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/19/tech/social-media/police-facebook-son-death/index.html

Voki vs Blabberize

In my opinion I liked the voki website better, although there were very few free things you could use to create your avatar, just creating it in general was a fun experience. I thought voki was an easier to use website because it loaded faster and the whole process was just simpler. I would use voki again because it was fun to create and avatar! xD

Real Life Stories

Today my Online teacher had everyone watch a video called Tracking Teresa  on the netsmartz website. In the video Teresa gave out almost no information about herself except her screen name and the facet that she had a little brother named Billy Jr, and then in 20 minutes someone found out her phone number, where she lived, and schools near where she lived. Talk about creepy! Now im like your average teenager of course i have put information about myself online. Although after watching this video I have a feeling im going to be taking a lot of information off any person webpages I have. I think that the most important thing to remember while online is that anything you post can be seen by ANYONE in the world!

Cyber bullying: Broken friendship-
If you've ever had a best friend then you'd know how close you can be to them. Well this girl shared her password with her best friend Katy, only to find out later that her "best friend" had given it to these really mean girls in school hoping that they would like her. In the end the mean girls sent emails containing pictures and dirty things to a bunch of guys in their school using her email. Now everyone in her school thinks shes the one who sent the emails and she lost her best friend.

Every heard of a status cloud? Well today is first time hearing about it, first the only social network I ever go on is Tumblr so my status cloud want very up-to-date. The words contained in mine are from posts a LONG time ago. I'm not embarrassed or ashamed of anything considering I don't post anything bad. So for the future I plan to keep my posts clean, that is if i make any posts. :)

Cyber Bullying

In my opinion Cyber Bully wasn't terrible, it could have been better and some things were pretty unrealistic. For example in the end when Taylor confronts her bully in real life im pretty sure people wouldn't clap and the bully would probably not react the same way. Although the bullying that took place was realistic and could actually happen to anybody. Not to mention the steps Taylor and her mom took to get help like going to that help group for teens, or the way her mom tried to get a law passed was pretty understandable and realistic. Overall they could have done better with the movie but I think the message they were trying to get through they did well delivering it. So good job Disney...
